Applies to everyone, everywhere the event happens
Code of conduct
Attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and organisers. In the venue, at the social, and online.
The short version
Be kind. Be professional. If someone asks you to stop, stop.
Expected behaviour
- Treat everyone with respect, whatever their background, role or experience.
- Ask before photographing or recording people.
- Give people space: if a conversation isn't welcome, end it.
- Look out for others and speak up — or tell an organiser — if something isn't right.
Unacceptable behaviour
- Harassment of any kind, including offensive comments, deliberate intimidation, stalking, unwelcome photography or unwanted physical contact.
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
- Sexual language or imagery in talks, slides or public spaces.
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above.
Reporting
Find any organiser (red lanyards), email conduct@example.com, or use the anonymous form linked in your ticket email. Reports are handled by two named organisers and kept confidential.
Consequences
Organisers may warn, remove from the event without refund, or ban from future events. We'll always explain the decision to the person concerned.
